A framework and methodology for compilation and presentation of monetary and financial statistics.
Applies the 1993 System of National Accounts standards to the depository corporations subsector and other financial corporations subsectors to construct aggregated balance sheets and analytical surveys for the financial corporations sector. It provides detailed descriptions of institutional units and financial corporations subsectors, financial assets and liabilities, other financial instruments, and methods of accounting for financial stocks and flows for the financial corporations sector. The standards are also applied to the compilation and presentation of flow of funds and related stock data for the financial corporations sector.
While the Monetary and Financial Statistics Manual 2000 (MFSM) was intended to reflect the 1993 System of National Accounts, the Monetary and Financial Statistics Compilation Guide (MFSCG), published in 2008, reflects a number of methodological and classification updates included in 2008 System of National Accounts.
